About Wesley BirthCare Center
We understand that giving birth is an exciting moment that may also be overwhelming. Our compassionate staff will be there to support you and your family during and after birth.
Birth center in Wichita, Kansas
Wesley BirthCare Center offers high-quality labor and delivery services in our facility —Wesley Medical Center's Birth Care Suites — for low-risk pregnancies. This comforting, family-friendly environment is an excellent option for expecting moms who are at least 37 weeks pregnant and do not have any complications. The birth center is open 24/7, so no matter when you go into labor, our obstetricians (OBs), gynecologists, nurses and staff will be ready to assist.
There are 20 birthing suites and two surgical suites for cesarean sections (C-sections) on site. Because labor, delivery and postpartum all take place in the same room, every suite is designed with comfort in mind. This includes a large bathroom with a separate shower and tub. A bed can also be pulled down from the wall for your birth partner to rest during your stay.
Additional on-site clinics
Giving birth should be a joyful experience, not a stressful one. Our staff offers customized services for expecting parents to take advantage of both before and after birth.
Pre-admission testing clinic
Our clinic offers private pre-admission appointments for expecting parents who are at least 28 weeks pregnant and have established care with an OB provider. During this appointment, you and your support partner will meet with an experienced labor and delivery nurse. From there, the nurse will help you complete admissions paperwork and prepare you for what to expect during your stay. You will also have the opportunity to discuss your desired birthing plan and ask questions. Meeting with our nurses prior to labor helps us provide the unique services that you request.
Although the Birth Care Suites are available 24/7, the clinic is only open Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
Breastfeeding clinic
The dedicated consultants at our WesleyCare walk-in clinic are available to help parents navigate breastfeeding challenges, answer questions and provide weight checks for your new baby.
These services are free for parents whose babies were born at one of the Wesley Healthcare facilities.
If you did not give birth at Wesley Medical Center or Wesley BirthCare Center, there is a one-time fee.
