Wesley’s oncology navigator provides free assistance to cancer patients before, during and after hospitalization. Services also extend to referring physicians, ensuring effective communication among all caregivers, facilities and individuals. Early detection screening
Lung Cancer Screening
According to the national Lung Cancer Screening Trial (NLST), early stage detection can prevent one in five lung cancer deaths. Wesley offers a low-dose CT lung screening that can identify the early stages of lung cancer. The screening takes less than five minutes and is available at three convenient Wesley Healthcare locations.
Wesley’s genetic counseling program is offered to individuals and families who may be at risk of cancer or whose family history may be suspicious for a hereditary cancer condition. Although most cancers occur by chance, in some individuals caner develops as the result of a genetic predisposition that runs in the family.
Wesley’s board-certified oncology genetic counselor helps patients identify if they are at an increased risk for cancer, provide education and awareness of their cancer risk, and offer risk reducing strategies that may aid in cancer prevention.
Our pediatric cancer specialists combine expert diagnostic skills with experienced and comprehensive care for children, adolescents and young adults with cancer.
We have a complete team of specialists in pediatric hematology and oncology, including nurses and nurse practitioners who are board-certified and experienced support staff. Patients and their families benefit from medical expertise that is balanced by our commitment to easing fears and pain, assistance with supportive care, acute and later side effects of chemotherapy stress management, nutrition and health maintenance guidance, support groups and cancer survivorship.
We work closely with your child’s primary care doctor, collaborating during and after the course of treatment. It is important to us that children are treated in whole (vs. just the disease) throughout and after the treatment and that they return to leading full lives.
